Speculative haiku

Any purist might say that speculative topics should not enter the realm of haiku. For a bit lets

step outside of the realm, and see where our creativity can take us with the basic tenets of the

haiku form. Using the kire, the juxtaposition of two ideas (instead of observations). Within the

confines of speculative poetry lies the idea of this form exploring science fiction and fantasy

(SFF), horror etc.

This week how about stepping into the realm of SFF or horror and writing poems within the

tenets of haiku, again without the explicit usage of cliche.

Dear all, what a month it has been! We went on such delightful journeys, wrote together, had engaging discussions, there were some excellent resources shared here as well. I, for one, had a blast! Some writing prompts were tough ( for me personally) but there were such fantastic responses! I loved how you all stepped outside your comfort zone and attempted speculative haiku. I salute you for it. Thank you all!

Thank you, Kala, Lakshmi and Muskaan for this opportunity. 🙏

Keep writing, all!

Sangita,

Thankyou for being here with all of us and encouraging us to come out of our comfort zone and write poems on different prompts each week.

I am sure that with constant practice and participation, the poets will see the improvement in their expression.

thinkALONG is grateful to you once again…

feedback, please.

I know this isn't speculative ... more from reality but it's gruesome and so thought it…

Oh I love this! Your final edit is so striking and poignant, Kala.

Such breaking of the woman! It prevails in some form even today
