Only the unpublished poems (that are never published on any social media platform/journals/anthologies) posted here for each prompt will be considered for Triveni Haikai India's monthly journal -- haikuKATHA, each month.
Poets are requested to post poems (haiku/senryu) that adhere to the prompts/exercises given.
Only 1 poem to be posted in 24 hours. Total 2 poems per poet are allowed each week (numbered 1,2). So, revise your poems till 'words obey your call'.
If a poet wants feedback, then the poet must mention 'feedback welcome' below each poem that is being posted.
Responses are usually a mixture of grain and chaff. The poet has to be discerning about what to take for the final version of the poem or the unedited version will be picked up for the journal.
The final version should be on top of the original version for selection.
Poetry is a serious business. Give you best attempt to feature in haikuKATHA !!

There are many different types of haiku, this is a “question haiku by a very talented haijin:
hillwalkers
how many footsteps
make a track
--- Debbie Strange
Debbie’s haiku is an unanswerable question unless you hike that hill and count the steps yourself. For every person who might do this, depending on their age, physical size, their walking stride, etc. each person would come up with a different conclusion which enhances the meaning of this question haiku:
This next one is a “statement” haiku where line 1 deepens into line 2, and then line 2 deepens into line 3 which gives us an example of what is known as the “aha” moment, or a realization contained within a statement made by the poet, for instance:
mosquito bite!
as a mother it’s mine
to understand
--- an’ya
Question and Statement Prompt: Please post a statement and /or a question haiku of your own and perhaps explain how and why it works as such.

How and why it works? I find that for so-so haiku, posing them as a question can tighten them up by forcing reader response.
