triveni spotlight A FEATURE EVERY ALTERNATE DAY! hosts: Teji Sethi and Kala Ramesh guest editor: Sanjuktaa Asopa
I have no need
to go seeking gods,
they may be there, somewhere
but here, now, the darkling beetle
is crossing the path
-- Joy McCall
(A Hundred Gourds, June 2016)
Editor's Note: The theme is ' The Ephemeral'. My endeavour here is to feature the poems that portray the ephemerality of things and emotions.
Absolutely ephemeral and truly spiritual ❤️
In all scriptures it is said that GOD is everywhere as far as the conscience wants to be with Him. If I am near the Lord will be near, if I am far the Lord will be far away. Thank you dear Sanjuktaa2003 for sharing nicely about reminding steps.
best regards 🌿
This is wow!
Who else but Joy McCall could have spoken about the here and now in this way?
She says she started writing at the age of 9 and has been at it for almost 70 years. An extremely warm and generous person from what little I could have known of her, Joy has had 'too many' published books than she can keep track of and I intend to seek out and read as many as I can of them, because she can take tanka to another plane altogether.
Somehow, on some level, I connect with this tanka so deeply and probably that's why I selected this one to represent my ephemeral.
Lovely selection Kala.
