A Fascinating Journey
“Cut it to the bone!” It’s oft-repeated yet an ever-timely advice for poets. Only
after taking it seriously did I realise what’s been missing from my earlier
writings. In time, I imagine, practising haikai could further pare down needs,
spilling into ways of life such as minimal shopping, minimal wardrobe, moderate eating, and a less occupied mind.
