Haiku as observations
As the legendary song goes, “Let’s start at the very beginning…”. About how haiku is primarily
based on observations and fulfilling the idea of the reader completing the picture that the poet
started. Where the poet weaves a couple of astute observations with a juxtaposition to bring a
mélange of images or memories or associations in the reader’s mind, ultimately creating the oft
quoted aha moment.
