Written some ten years ago, I still remember the occasion of this haiku’s genesis. Small icicles would sometimes form during winter nights and early mornings on the underside of the eaves around our then home in the little town of Allendale in South Australia. If anyone were to skim my poetry generally it will quickly become apparent that I have something of an obsession with light and colour and especially with the way light and colour play upon, with and in water. Perhaps fascination and wonderment are better terms than obsession. More than this, the play of light has always had a numinous quality for me… I feel blessed by…
