I can imagine the light echoes across from the moon. It is very beautiful.

“I first experienced this haiku moment when I walked quietly through a red desert canyon in the hidden ancient city of Petra, Jordan. I was returning from a late afternoon visit to a sandstone tomb on June 30, 1988, during an overland world tour to the Seven Wonders of the World. Your readers in India might have seen the fictionally-named canyon of the crescent moon featured in the movie “Indian Jones” released on May 24, 1989.
The original poem was penned in my dusty travel diary in all lower case letters.

The combination of imagery and sound in this haiku is quite haunting!
Beautiful. Good choice, Vandana. There is so much resonance between words and lines in this ku. _()_
